Caitie Sellers
Caitie Sellers’ jewelry is inspired by the urban landscape including infrastructure and architecture. Images of highways and overpasses inform her jewelry with banked twists, filigree railings, and dimensional layers. Each piece is individually hand fabricated out of Argentium sterling silver and copper mesh. Argentium is a silver alloy more pure than sterling with tarnish-resistant qualities. Original jewelry by Caitie Sellers is available online at www.TheMorStudios.com.

HandCrafted Jewelry

My jewelry is inspired by the urban landscape, particularly infrastructure and architecture. Images of highways and overpasses inform these pieces with banked twists, filigree railings, and dimensional layers.
Each piece is individually hand fabricated out of Argentium sterling silver and copper mesh. Argentium is a silver alloy more pure than sterling with tarnish-resistant qualities. I have developed a unique method of joining this metal with woven mesh that allows me to create transparent forms that are surprisingly light. I design connections that spin so that the jewelry is always moving and creating changing patterns. The mesh is sturdy enough for regular wear but weighs very little, making even large earrings comfortable for all-day wear. Each piece has a soft brushed grey patina that compliments any outfit.
My studio is located in Richmond, Virginia in the Elevator Collective, a multidisciplinary artist space in a former elevator components factory.
